Prosper Realtor Brand Photos

Realtors often contact me for branding photos because they want their clients to see something other than “stuffy” headshots! They intend to use the images in marketing, including printed brochures, flyers and business cards. They also use them in the digital world for email signatures, websites, blogs and social media.

Realtors need a constant stream of fresh images to set their brands apart! Prosper realtor, Leigh Gressett, invited me into her home for her brand photos. Prior to the shoot, she described her home to me, so I had some ideas of where the light would be best and what areas of the home to use. Upon my arrival, she had all the blinds open and lamps off. Believe it or not, that is a huge help and saves a lot of time! Natural light and ambiant light don’t like to compete! She also had all the clutter cleared, so that saved us time in having to hide trash cans, knick knacks and cords! We started outside on her porch and then moved to her side patio. The white bricks surrounding the fireplace reflected the natural light beautifully! Her sweet dog joined in for some of the photos! He was just a big teddy bear! Clients always seem to love images with pets in them! We moved to various areas of her home, including her office, dining room, bedroom, staircase, and living area. All her photos look welcoming and homey and have a personal feel to draw her clients in.

Because she is a realtor in Prosper, TX (a suburb of Dallas), she also desired to have photos taken in the well-known downtown area. Three gigantic silos dotted the skyline near an old railroad track.  Even though it was bright sun in mid-day, we were able to capture fun, personal images that show Prosper is her home town.

Her props were basic: her Remarkable, laptop, phone and dog. We did wish we brought some hats to the silos just because of the bright sun, so something for next time!

Five Quick Ways Realtors Can Prepare for a Photo Shoot

  • Plan the location(s). Consider an Airbnb, hotel lobby, downtown, outdoor shopping mall, model home, your home, or one of your listings
  • Plan your outfits and jewelry. Be comfortable, yet professional. Textures photograph well. Statement pieces or hats add a pop.
  • If you aren’t getting photos taken quarterly, then dress for any season to get the most use out of your photos.
  • Gather your props ahead of time. Think about your day and how to show it. Consider messaging. For example, use confetti to show excitement that someone closed on a home.
  • Bring a friend! In addition to providing moral support, she can double as a “client”.
