Personal Brand Photos for Dallas business coach

Planning the branding photos for a Dallas business coach and speaker

Allison is an agile coach for organizations, a speaker, and a mentor for new speakers and future women leaders. Allison’s mission is to change the way IT organizations embrace change. She partners alongside technology transformation leaders to achieve their best-fit Agile. The personal part of her bio informs clients she is also an avid reader, a foodie, and proud glasses wearer. Those are unique items we definitely wanted to portray in her personal brand photos at the Black and Light Studio. We looked online at their selection of backdrops, furniture, and props to determine which pieces/colors would best present her brand. Doing this ahead of time helps us to maximize our limited time in the studio and saves us from having to make time-eating last minute decisions. In addition, Allison sent me photos of our outfit ideas ahead of time, so we were able to narrow things down and she didn’t have to bring along of ton of things she wouldn’t be wearing. She kept jeans on the whole time, and changed her shirts out, adding a scarf, and then a jacket for different looks.

Day of the the photo shoot

Branding photos for a Dallas business coach need a lot of variety! We started off the photoshoot with some lifestyle type headshots taken in front of a whimsical, black and white background. Then we rolled out the black background and set up a faux office for images with sticky notes, a flip board,  a notebook, sharpies and her laptop. After these more “professional” business type photos, we kept the same background and rolled in a white couch for a more casual look. She “sipped coffee” and “read a book” for some inviting images. Following that, we flipped the background to a modern, distressed wooden background and captured the crazy fun images of her wearing all the different glasses she has worn for years! I don’t know how she kept her eyes open for those shots! Then, we displayed them all around her. Being a “glasses wearer” is part of her brand and we needed to highlight that! After a few walking photos, we finished the last part of the session in front of a white background taking some headshots and full body shots. Whew, because of the upfront preparation, we were able to get all this variety in an hour!
