A simple google search led Rachel to learn about my photography! It’s always so fun to meet new clients!
When I sent Rachel a list of local areas to do photo shoots at, The Mandalay Canals in Las Colinas caught her eyes because of the Old World European vibes.
On a gorgeous fall afternoon, there was hardly anyone there. The beautiful light reflected off the nearby buildings and meandering canal. One of the things I loved about Rachel, is that she was not camera shy at all!
I could definitely tell she had some theater in her bones because she was willing to try various looks and poses that aren’t your typical “smile and say cheese.” Her willingness to trust me and put herself out there resulted in almost a fairytale type shoot!
As we made our way around the area, there were little nooks and crannies everywhere. I felt like we were walking around a storybook and she was the lead character!
Her choice of outfits was spot on! But don’t let the picture fool you! Something always seems to not go as planned on a shoot. For Rachel, it was the moment she put on her prom dress and realized the zipper was broken. Unfortunately, because of quarantine, prom never happened last year and she hadn’t realized it was broken because she never got a chance to wear it!
It could have been a real bummer, but we strategically took all the photos from the other side! I say that to tell you not to fret when things don’t go as you thought they would (a good life lesson too!) We prep the best we can and then work with what we have! Often that is wind, cold weather, pollen, crowds, bugs, you name it!
At the end of the shoot as we chatted, we realized we both go to the same church! How cool is that! I know the Lord has a destiny for Rachel. She plans to attend Angelo State University after graduation. I pray Ephesians 5:15 for Rachel. “Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time.” May the Lord be gracious and grant you wisdom so you shine His light wherever you go!
Here’s another Dallas senior girl session with some European flair!
Let me know in the comments which is your favorite outfit that Rachel wore!
