What is your working from home set up like? For the past seven years, I have shared my office with my three kids! Because our kids attend a university model school, we homeschool two days a week. It’s been beneficial for us all to be together so I can help them on their school work as needed.
Then – shelter in place happened! This past spring we all still were in the same room with my husband working from home in the adjacent dining room. I realized that it wasn’t only getting difficult for me to do my work, but the constant noise was also disrupting the kids when they needed to focus. So, it was time for a new plan and a home office makeover! I moved the kids and set up a place of my own. The quiet space helps me focus and I’m super happy with the final results!
If you’re like me, pinterest is your best friend in times like these! I spent so much time looking up offices and filled up a home office board. I knew pretty much just what I wanted and how to do it economically!

This was the homeschool room with one more desk in the corner.
I painted the Ikea desk I already had and kept the dresser for the copier, but changed most of the rest of the room!
Paint stayed the same too! It’s Sherwin Williams Accessible Beige, and actually looks so much darker in here than in my kitchen!
Moving day mess!
