My nephew Brett and his fiancĂ© Emily were in town for spring break and the Texas weather made it into the high 70’s on Saturday afternoon for their “She Said Yes” party! Of course a cold front blew in for picture day and brought winter back! We were just so glad that we could take these without rain!
Of course this couple has a special place in my heart because Brett is my nephew. I have so many memories of his childhood – from him being born, to watching him learn to sit and crawl and walk. Being the first born on both sides, he got lots of attention from grandparents and aunts and uncles! When he was a boy he would “wrestle” with my husband and they would always shake hands first every time and say, “good luck”! I have the best home videos of him dancing to Toby Mac around our living room with a pillow in his stomach as a kid. (Emily, I’ve got to show you those!)
Now he’s all grown up and his mom told me the other day that Emily is the girl she’s prayed for all these years and her mom had been praying for Brett as well. That gave me chills and is an encouragement for us with younger children to keep praying for what we don’t see yet.
After the shoot we got to grab some grub at Harry’s at the Harbor. If you haven’t been there, you need to try it! Not only is the food delicious (especially the fried pickles!), but the view is gorgeous! We got to talk all details wedding and I can’t wait to see them tie the knot and document the wedding in photos in just a few short months!
Congratulations Brett + Emily!
